A poem for my mumsy

Created by Rachelle 4 years ago
Mumsy today we all think of you, and say what springs to mind

Of all the things you say and do,  it was sure that you were kind.

Ive catalogued a photo book,  for all of you to take a look.

It’s memories that family have shared together,
Of me and mumsy I’ll treasure them forever.

It doesn’t go back very far,
as times for us two, didn’t stretch that timeline bar.

I’m thankful for all the things she taught  me,
to be strong, to love unconditionally,
Family time matters,
those telephone chatters.

That smile she does, just to put you at ease,
the frown she would make, to put you in trembling knees.

She’s guided us all in what’s right and wrong,
Our thanks for her children’s paths are sure to be long.

There hasn’t been a year gone by,
where mums health has been her dreaded tie,
in times where she would cover up in just a little white lie.

This dreaded cancer stole her away,
a time when her and I came back together,
a chance for mother and daughter whatever the weather.

As a mother she was blessed with children five,
As a wife she stood by our
 dads side,
As a granny,a nanny, a nan nan, her grandchildren will have memories to put aside,
as a friend she cared an awful lot,
as a butterfly angel will all forget not!

Sleep tight night ! night! Our Dorothy has gone,
But in our hearts will always carry a piece of her we’re never alone,
To heaven she has butterfly flown

Love you lots from Rachelle
